The annual Norris Bank Primary School Harvest Fair took place on 10th October and was a great success – bringing pupils, staff, and families together for a community celebration.

Over the year, each class has been busy growing their own produce in the school garden: from pumpkins, tomatoes, berries and apples to herbs and flowers. The children then used what they grew to create a range of wonderful handmade goods to sell at the fair. There were pumpkin biscuits, mint biscuits, warming fresh soup, chocolate-coated apples, bunches of flowers, fruit filled cakes, lavender bags, and refreshing homemade lemonade drinks on offer – all made by the children.

Alongside the fair, the school community collected tins, dried pasta, and other store cupboard essentials for The Wellspring charity, helping to support local families in need. This incredible effort was coordinated by the School Councillors, who did an excellent job of encouraging everyone to contribute.
Elena Ponsen, Head of School commented:
“It was inspiring to see the pupils’ hard work, creativity, and kindness come together, and even more rewarding to know that all proceeds from the fair will go directly towards maintaining and improving our school garden for future GROW projects. I can’t wait to see what they grow next!”
A big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the young gardeners and entrepreneurs.
